some people may be wondering the status of the lil' black cat that we rescued...
well, after MONTHS of him skulking around like he was bigfoot, never appearing for more than a few seconds before darting under a couch... he's finally comfortable with the other pets... and us!
he's now always underfoot, wants attention all the time... to the point of being pushy... and is a big sweetie.
and indy is... well, still indy.

i needed to draw up a lil' bio pic of myself for a current project...
i call that pose "the otis"
though i drew up a not-so-silly one too...
someone e-mailed me recently and asked if i would scan the progress on their piece "in stages" as i finish it... so i thought i'd share what's on my plate today:
as you can see, go-go is still just a rough sketch in the background, i'll polish up her pose when now that i like the way kiddo is going.
i tend to "polka dot" when i work, going from one area to the next... sometimes skipping big gaps and filling them in later. it's not always the best way to work, but it gives me time to mull things over a bit before i ink!
also on the "to do" list?
-lots of commissions, i'm getting to them all, i SWEAR.
-200 sketch cards for the new Indiana Jones movie... woohoo!
-50 cards for the Marvel Masterpieces II card set
-100 cards for HEROES season 2
i just did an additional 25 cards for the Women of Marvel set as well, since the set it due out in a few weeks, i hope i can post the cards from that set soon.
because i need to mention when people are awesome and send me cute things... livejournal's "duchess-webb" sent me this hat she made just for me:
this is a very sweet, awesome, very "me" gift (i do love monsters!). thank you SO much! this will make it into the same rotation as my kitty hat and my "good god, did your grandmother buy you that hat?" hat.

okay... i know i haven't posted any work in a few days. there are 2 reasons for this...
reason 1, i'm insanely busy this week. this also means that if you are waiting on an e-mail from me... please be patient!
this also means that if you're waiting on a commission from me, i'm DRAWING IT! finally, eh?
reason 2, i can't post a lot of what i'm working on, but that just means that when i can post it, it'll be all the more awesome.
someone sent me a scan of one of my favorite mini-paintings i did at wondercon... so i thought i'd post it (it's a quick 3"x4" watercolor painting).

i'm still fiddling with some effects. this is why i don't typically color things on the computer myself. i spend so much time doing nit-picky things... takes me fooooorever.
in other news, i will have a NEW 2008 convention sketchbook available by the end of april. there are *2* sketchbooks.
sketchbook 1... is the typical collection of my sketches, cards, etc. from the previous year. it will be full color and have a much nicer, thicker cardstock cover than last years...
sketchbook 2... is "the naughty drawings of a nice girl", which is a black and white book of some of my cute, racier sketches that have a tendency to pop up in my sketch book.
both will be available by may.

i just met bryan out at wondercon the other weekend, so i'm both in awe and thrilled that they've all taken a liking to my work!
