2 years n' counting...
instead of telling everyone how the trip went this weekend, i gotta' take today to say some else... something waaaaaaaaaaay more important! i gotta' get all mushy for a sec.
today is my two year wedding anniversary with ryan!
ryan is better than peanut butter n' jelly and i'mma' lucky lady.
it's been an awesome adventure so far n' i can't wait to see what else is in store for us in the years to come :-) love ya' sweetie.

Motor City Comic Con wrap-up pt. 1
i'm still swimming in things from the motor city con... tonight i can start playing catch-up with all my e-mails and whatnot... so please be patient with me!
i picked up some AMAZING new pieces for my wonder woman collection at the con, i'll post those asap.
last night, i grabbed dinner with my friends the minor boys (http://universe-m.com/), david petersen and his awesome wife (http://davidpetersen.blogspot.com/), andy price and *his* awesome wife (get that new site up, andy!) as well as a few very fun people whose names i'm flubbing on this morning. sorry guy!
andy and david are 2 artists that i ADORE, so it was a great night. finally
also, david, congrats on the eisner nominations. it really couldn't have happened to a more awesome, nice, talented guy. "Mouse Guard" is such a wonderful book, if any of my readers haven't picked it up... run out and get it now!
the highlight of the convention, for me, was saturday afternoon. i made my way to the 501st booth where i was going sit for a bit and do free star wars sketches. before i even sat down, i was told to stand aside and was surprised with a plaque and a name tag officially inducing me as an honorary member of the 501st.
i was VERY surprised. i'm so insanely thrilled about this that i'm not sure i can put it into words without sounding like a) an idiot and b) a giant nerd.
to the 501st, thank you SO much. i'll be sending out some individual e-mails to a few of you... but i just wanted to give a huge "THANKS!" to you all now. i love the 501st and all the good things that you guys do for charities, your communities, children and the star wars fandom.
also, seeing art balthazar makes any convention a good one. love that guy... aw yeah man!
i'll do a full post soon with pictures of some of my convention drawings (i did a LOT of them) and more about the con :-)
for now... i'm at work and i have a HUGE deadline for wednesday. :-/ so... nerd out!

R2-KT
i had the honor of doing this piece for the Great Lakes Garrison, the Michigan 501st Legion.
they asked me to do this R2-KT/Leia piece that they could present to the 501st founder, Albin Johnson at the Motor City Comic Con this weekend.
the R2-KT story is so touching... if you aren't familiar with it, i highly suggest you read up on it!
