a while back, i was asked to customize a stormtrooper helmet that will be auctioned off and star wars CV in orlando in august for the make-a-wish charity.

but, my helmet is DONE and in transit.
i think it turned out really cute! i painted it one of my favorite colors... then went CRAZY doodling all over it. i think it SCREAMS "katie" and it's full of very silly little SW jokes. :)

this piece will FIRST be available as a 17" x 5.5" print at san diego comic con. i will open it up for online purchases later on, but the first run will be available at the show... and i will be doing a kitty sketch in the corner near the signature for anyone who buys it from me at a convention :)

for the next couple of weeks, i'm going to be spotlighting the things i'll have for sale at the upcoming 2010 San Diego Comic Con... and i thought i'd start off with my first mini-comic ever! a FILTHY, NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN BOOK ABOUT CATS!
...what? didn't expect that from me?
so this book is not appropriate for minors... really only because there's naughty language. lots and lots of naughty language... coming from a grumpy cat.
this 24 page mini-book will be $5 and i will sign it and do a sketch of a cat in it for you if you buy it at a convention from me.

i was asked to do pin-ups for the back galleries of BOTH of Toykopop's upcoming installments of their Henson titles! the next books of Return to Labyrinth and Legends of the Dark Crystal are coming out a little later this summer and I'm very excited to have a small part in both of them. make sure you buy 'em when they come out!
(they are only black and white as that is what the books are printed in... but i AM working on a color version of the dark crystal piece for my portfolio)
the originals for both of these will be for sale in my originals portfolio at san diego comic con... unless of course someone makes me an offer i can't refuse now ;)
