last week, i went on a bit of a silly ramble on twitter about what MY batman book would be like.
...then it perked the interest of many a folk.
jill over at newsarama wrote about it:

as did chris over at comic alliance:

(they collect the tweets and some of the little doodles i did in both articles. go give 'em a read!)
but, basically, batman, after watching his parents die before him, sees a bat as he stands in the alley... and therefor thinks he's a bat. probably some kind of post-tramatic stress thingy. he's a kid, and he makes up villains in his head (catwoman is actually just his cat).
anyways. it's a fun idea that i'm sure DC will never allow me to attempt, and that does make me a sad panda... but it's okay. i can pretend it exists in my head. also, i quickly doodled up this very silly 3-panel start to it. (forgive it's terribleness. it was more of a thumbnail for a page... then i realized i had other work i needed to be doing to pay my mortgage and gave up on it).
Oh wow. I would totally read that. Hooked after three panels.

I was at a DC panel at SDCC and Didio was screaming at us "Who would you hire then?" when people were asking about female creators. Well, here's just one example. Hire Katie to do a Batman book. I'm sure Grant could figure out a way to work it in anyway, but who cares, this is a fantastic idea and deserves to be brought to the fans.

This is a great idea! Never say never... Considering your Hulk work for Marvel, I will not be surprised at all when DC signs you up for Bats! I really like the black and white scratchy style, too.
