so i've seen a lot of sketch card puzzle sets lately. they can be GREAT AWESOME THINGS that bring excitement and intrigue to the trading card world.
"will bob ever find the other half of that puzzle set?" "i don't know! i don't think he knows so-and-so pulled it last week!" THE DRAMA. trading card message boards are like soap operas.
but, in my opinion… the challenge and FUN of doing a puzzle set of cards is trying to make each card work on it's own. the collector that pulls your card may not WANT to try and track down a puzzle set and he doesn't want to keep the card you drew of darth's shoulder.
i think EVERY CARD should be one that a collector can keep and enjoy on its own.
"but katie… this three card set i did was a private commission and that person will have all three cards in the puzzle when i ship them to him! one of those cards can just be Deadpool's pinkie toe because he'll have the other cards!"
tough noogies. if they wanted a 7.5" x 3.5" piece of the character, they would have ordered that. it's your challenge to yourself to make those 3 cards all work individually.
…and that's what i have to say about that.
