news about the OLD CelebrationV print...

so i swore up and down to every person who has asked me in the past 7 months if i have ANY copies of this print left that i don't. i simply didn't have any APs lying around. in my heart, i knew this to be true and i was getting tired of disappointing people when i told them i didn't have any. I've told over 20 people in the past few weeks alone that I didn't have one. 

 

then, yesterday, i cleaned my studio to start packing parts of it up and i found THREE OF THEM buried in with prints that other artists had traded with me at Star Wars CelebrationV 2 years ago.

 

just hours earlier i think i had made a pleading tweet for people to stop asking me about this print because i had NONE. (oops! i almost had a heart attack when i pulled them out of the tube from the overwhelming guilt of telling so many people that it would be a cold day in hell before i probably saw one again) 

 

anyway. since i have not been keeping records of the folks who have e-mailed me over the last several months about it, they are head to ebay to keep things fair. 

the first one started today.

i may keep the third one, i may take it with me to CelebrationVI in a few weeks and donate it to something... i haven't decided yet. i may say "screw it" and put it up on ebay too. I have diapers to buy and a household to move.

katie can write... my little pony friendship is magic

last week at the san diego comic con, IDW announced that i will be writing the first four issue story arc for their new Hasbro comic title... My Little Pony: Frienship is Magic. 

 

my dear friend, Andy Price, is handing the artistic duties on this... making it the first comic that i am writing for someone else to draw. it's daunting, but i am excited. andy is uber talented and i trust him to make my words shine with love and tolerance and friendship and magic and pony-goodness. 

as a huge fan of the show, i can't wait to show everyone how much i love twilight sparkle :P 

 

the show has a huge cult following, so i'm actually terrified i'll make some mistake that will have pony fans throwing horseshoes at me at comic conventions... but, well, you know. i'm writing a comic that i would want to read and andy would want to draw. we're fans. we love ponies. we're going to make is as good as we can! 

 

now, since i kind of have to stop posting pony artwork that's not approved for a while... i can't post the piece i was going to post when i made this blog post...

so... 

umm.. i quickly made up my new spin-off "my little manatee". here you go. here's me as a not-a-pony-my-little-manatee. see how my cutie mark is my logo? that's branding. delightful. let's make a comic of this concept too. i'm sure it will be just as adventure filled and exciting. 

katie's star wars celebration VI print

i have created a limited edtion print for acme/star wars celebration next month! 

currently, it will be available at the star wars convention in orlando next month (this is a limited run of 250 prints running $60 each)

 

 

it is the same size as the "A New Hope" version... 36" x 9".

if the print does not sell out at the show, i'll post order info when i know about it. 

 

 i will also post pre-order info when i have it. 

katie's SDCC 2012 information

San Diego Comic Con is next week... and OH MAN. did it sneak up on me this year...(it's earlier than it normally is, which my internal scheduling resents. 

 

I will be at my usual table in artists' alley GG-01

 

i will have prints, original artwork, gronk books, mini paintings and MORE for sale.

I WILL being doing sketches. I will be doing my usual $5 mini paintings all day, every day. 

-there is no list to get a $5 piece done… just show up at the table. everyone is limited to 4 mini paintings per visit if there is a line. if there's no line, go nuts. i'll paint you a million of them. if there's a line… you get 4 and then it's to the back of the line with you! hang you from my presence until you've waited your turn again ;)

-LARGER sketches… I WILL be doing a few larger, full-color 6" x 6" pieces. they start at $60 and are fully executed in inks and watercolor. 

-i will be taking 4-6 sketches on every day EXCEPT sunday. I suggest you get to my table early to get on the list... but not before the show opens. i will not start the list until the doors open to the public. 

-sketches are to be picked up the NEXT morning. i do NOT do sketches at the show, i complete them in my hotel room at night because i am a cranky old lady. no exceptions. i know some of you only have one day at the show… if you can't pick it up next day, i will mail it to you. 

-i am not taking a list of pre-orders to be done for pick-up at the show. the show it in less then a week, are you crazy? (no, really, people have been e-mailing me TODAY about getting a new piece of artwork done for the show. no. no no no no no no no no).

here are the 30 sketch cards i did for for my sketch card set with 5finity "kitty ditties & pretty ladies" (a theme of cute girls with cats).

i also did a few dealer incentive cards that i was told to make JUST drawings of cats... so i did the cards based on pictures of cats that my followers on twitter and facebook provided me of THEIR cats! fan cats! i'll post those when i get the chance.
